The Sandringham mattress has been manufactured by Burgess for in excess of 30 years. The current specification still remains very similar to the first models with the exception of the pocketed spring unit, which has increased from a 1200 count to 1500 count in the standard king size.

Filling Specification

Hessian insulator which is hand stitched to the spring, layers of white cotton felt, layers of rolled, long stranded white hair, layers of pure Lambs wool, layers of loose wool and a layer of DP Cambric to prevent hair migration.

Finishing Specification

The border is finished with two rows of hand side stitching by craftsmen. Four reinforced flag stitched handles are added to all sizes along with solid brass ventilators, which allow the mattress to breathe. After upholstering the mattress is tufted with white felt washers attached by hand with cotton popins.

Spring Specification

1480 individually hand nested and centre twine tied pocketed springs in a standard king size, which are compression encased in hardwearing calico.
