4'6 Sprung Edge non storage Divan Featured in Golf Leaf Ticking

Burgess manufactures two types of Sprung Edge Divan. i.e. Storage and Non-Storage. The basic non-storage sprung edge divan is manufactured using 7.5" or 9.5" solid wooden side frames onto which a multi-coil spring unit is mounted prior to upholstery and cover. The top of the range is The Highgrove Sprung Edge Divan, which is only available for The Highgrove Mattress. It is made from selected timber, planed, screwed and glued at joints. Hardwood crossbars are used to support the eight 3" Shepherd castors inset into the frame. Firm springing traditionally upholstered with Hessian, natural fibre and wool go to make up this beautifully hand crafted divan. The Sprung Edge Storage Divan is manufactured using a 9.5" solid wooden sided frame in the same way as non-storage but modified for drawer apertures. Again a multi-coil spring unit is mounted onto the frame prior to upholstery and cover, several drawer options are offered.

Filling Specification

Heavy weight Typar/woollen insulator hand stitched to the spring, layers of wool and polyester.

Finishing Specification

4'6 Standard Four Drawer Sprung Edge Divan Featured in Gold Leaf Ticking

The Divan borders and panels are sewn with identical ticking and the cover is then tape edged using complimentary colour tape. All double divans are offered split East to West or North to South and are linked together on assembly at the end users house with brass linking bars and wing nuts. As with the linking bars, headboard fittings are fitted prior to delivery and require no tools to tighten or loosen. The last finishing touch is the application of a classical Burgess badge secured with brass tacks to confirm our hallmark of continued quality

Spring Specification

The springs are fully heat-treated. There are 325 individual open coil springs at 3.5" deep in the standard King size.
